Katharine Parham Malhotra is a doctoral candidate in education policy at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her work leverages both quantitative and qualitative research methods to examine issues of equity in PK-12 education policies and programs, the effectiveness of school choice policies, and issues in special education.

 

Previously, she worked as a federal policy analyst with the U.S. Senate Education Committee and the U.S. Department of Education. Her career in education began as a special education teacher in New Orleans.

 

She holds a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Political Science with honors from the University of South Carolina.
